We are pleased to welcome Mr Mark Stringer to Eastbay Specialist Centre as a lower limb orthopaedic surgeon, taking referrals for ACC and private orthopaedics patients.
Mark completed his Orthopaedic Sports Fellowship Unisports Orthopaedics in Auckland, New Zealand, a Hip and Knee Joint Replacement Fellowship at Dalhousie University Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney Australia.
Mark is a Member of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association and a Fellow of the Royal Australia College of Surgeons.
Mark was fortunate to spend his year in Canada on fellowship with Professor Michael Dunbar, a visionary in hip and knee joint replacement. During his time there, Mark was involved in the first robotic-assisted knee joint replacement in the province. He is excited about the potential benefits robotic surgery could provide to improve his patient's outcomes.
His subspecialty is hip and knee joint replacement, which he performs at Grace Hospital in Tauranga. Mark is trained in robotic surgery, and can offer robotic-assisted knee joint replacements.
Mark and his wife Ruth love living in the Mount with their young family. Mark enjoys playing a range of sports, including cricket, tennis, golf, and squash, paddle boarding in Pilot Bay, and competing in local triathlon events.
